Legacy Private School Celebrates Nigeria’s Independence Day with Vibrant Festivities
On October 1st, Legacy Private School came alive with color, culture, and celebration as we marked Nigeria’s Independence Day with a spirited lineup of activities that showcased our students’ talents, patriotism, and love for country.
Anchors of the Day
The event kicked off with Mrs. Patricia, who gracefully set the tone as the opening anchor. Her warm welcome and engaging presence paved the way for Mr. Danlada, our master of ceremonies, who took over and kept the energy high throughout the day.
Cultural Presentations
Our students dazzled the audience with traditional dances that reflected the rich heritage of Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups. The rhythm, costumes, and choreography brought the spirit of unity and pride to life.
Quiz on Nigerian Current Affairs
A lively quiz session tested our scholars’ knowledge of Nigeria’s history, governance, and current affairs. It was both educational and entertaining, sparking friendly competition and deepening our appreciation for the nation’s journey.
Biscuit Challenge Game
One of the most amusing moments of the day was the “biscuit-on-the-forehead” game. Students were challenged to move a biscuit from their forehead into their mouth using only facial movements—no hands allowed! Two teams of four students each gave it their best shot, but the biscuit proved to be a slippery opponent, and no one claimed victory. Laughter filled the air as everyone cheered them on.
Debate Competition: Military vs. Civilian Government
Our senior scholars engaged in a thought-provoking debate on the topic “Military Government is Better than Civilian Government.” The arguments were sharp, the delivery passionate, and the engagement electric. After a fierce intellectual battle, Team Green White Green emerged victorious. Congratulations to Esther Balogun, Milli Gamache, and Mayowa Ola for their outstanding performance and teamwork!
