Legacy Private Schools hosted a vibrant and memorable Cultural Day that brought together parents, teachers, and students in a colorful display of Nigeria’s rich heritage.

The event commenced shortly before 11:00 a.m. with lively music from the DJ, who set the tone by welcoming guests warmly. The program officially began with opening prayers offered by representatives of both major religions, reflecting inclusivity and unity. This was followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, after which the celebration was formally declared open.

Parents, teachers, and students arrived dressed in traditional attire, proudly representing their respective ethnic groups. The presentations were organized regionally:

- Northern Nigeria: Participants from the Middle Belt to the Far North showcased their traditions.

- South East: The Igbo community highlighted their cultural identity.

- South South: Edo and other groups presented their rich heritage.

- South West: The Yoruba group displayed their vibrant customs.

A highlight of the day was the exhibition of traditional dishes from each group. Guests had the opportunity to savor diverse delicacies, each reflecting the unique flavors of Nigeria’s regions. After careful consideration, the Yoruba group emerged winners, recognized for their outstanding cultural display, culinary presentation, and captivating dance performance.

The celebration featured energetic dance performances, with troupes invited from outside the school to represent the Igbo and Northern traditions. These performances added depth and authenticity to the event, ensuring that every cultural group was well represented.

The Cultural Day was a resounding success, marked by unity, diversity, and joy. Food and drinks were shared generously, and every participant contributed to the lively atmosphere. The event not only celebrated Nigeria’s cultural richness but also fostered a spirit of togetherness among the school community.
